Custom Tile Murals
Custom Orders
Can you print on my tile?
Yes we can. You can send us your ceramic, porcelain, limestone and marble tiles to work on. To maintain best results, please provide us only with lighter colored tiles such as off-white or beige. If we receive a darker colored material, the final overall color scheme may be distorted. We cannot work with high-shine porcelain tile.
Can you manufacture murals in custom sizes?
Yes we can. If you are interested in an image from our collection in a custom size, click on the custom sizes link when you preview the desired image. It will automatically calculate the closest possible size. If you would like to see your own image in a custom size, please contact us at info@customtileartmurals.com with your specifications and your image included as an attachment.
Can I provide you with an image to make a mural or decorative tile?
Yes you can. You can provide your own image in the form of a photograph, postcard, poster, or e-mail us a scanned image (300 dpi). The charge is $50.00 for images that require no changes. If you would like an image to be adjusted, you will be quoted a separate price that will reflect the necessary set-up and calibration before beginning any work.
Can I see what a mural would look like in my custom size?
Yes you can. Upon request, we will email you an image in the same proportions as your desired mural size. The mural size represents the proportions of the image so it can be enlarged or decreased. Since individual tiles should not be cut, the image may need to be stretched and/or cropped to accommodate your specifications.
Can you change the colors of your existing murals or decorative tiles?
Yes we can. Upon request, we will change a color and e-mail you an image for your approval, accompanied by a quote for the appropriate set-up fee.
Installation
Do you recommend applying grout after a mural is installed?
This would depend on your own preference. If you are applying the grout between the tiles, we suggest that you first cover the mural with masking tape before applying the grout. Some stone and porcelain tiles are variable in texture and may have natural holes on the tile surface. Since these characteristics are part of the tile's aesthetic pleasure, filling those holes with grout may have an undesirable effect. If you are installing a mural in a bath and do not want to use grout, we suggest to use clear silicone between the tiles. Once the silicone has cleared, it will not affect the way your mural looks.
Do you ship murals assembled?
No, we do not. Murals are shipped unassembled. For easy installation, each tile is numbered on the back starting in the upper left hand corner.
Quality and Durability
Do you seal your murals and decorative tiles?
Yes we do. All of our products are completely sealed and protected from water and non-abrasive household cleaning agents. The sealer is baked on and will last throughout the lifetime of the product.
Can your products be installed in a wet location like a shower?
Yes. All of our products are water resistant.
Can your products be installed in a floor?
Although our products are protected with a scratch resistant sealer that is durable enough for a floor application, we do not recommend floor installation without additional coatings.
